The goal of this project was to make a replica prop of Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber hilt from Return of the Jedi. I also wanted an excuse to test my manual machining on some larger size parts and this worked great for that. The hilt is made of of 5 parts, mostly aluminum with one brass piece near the emitter at the top. The pieces are geld together with two pieces of all-thread that connect each end to the main handle body. Each part was made by hand on a manual lathe, and the pommel details also required a manual mill
